Talladega Nights Team Rejoins for ‘Sherlock Holmes’ Comedy
Big news from Variety: Sacha Baron Cohen will play Sherlock Holmes and Will Ferrell will play his assistant, Dr. John Watson. The two comedy powerhouses will join their Talladega Nights producers Judd Apatow and Jimmy Miller for the Columbia Pictures project, while Etan Cohen (Tropic Thunder, Idiocracy) will write the script. This isn’t the only high profile remake of Sherlock Holmes; Warner Bros. is currently piecing together another version with director Guy Ritchie. Clearly, our money is on the version with two of the world’s biggest comedy stars. Being under the watchful eye of Judd Apatow doesn’t hurt either.
We’re sure the fans will have a lot to say about this huge announcement, especially with Will playing assistant to Sacha. Want to chime in on this news? Discuss this story over on our message board.
