Seth Rogen on-set filming 'Paul'

A new  web diary for next year’s Simon Pegg/Nick Frost-meets-The Frat Pack sci-fi comedy Paul has debuted online.  In it, the video reveals that co-star Seth Rogen is not just providing the voice of the title character, but is also shooting motion-capture performance footage. This is pretty exciting since the initial casting annoucement seemed like his involvement was limited to voiceover work.

The web clip also shows brief shots of the all-star cast which includes Jason Bateman, Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig, but also reveals that longtime Frat Pack costar David Koechner and I Love You Man’s Joe Lo Truglio are also part of the film’s impressive comedic ensemble.

Don’t forget LoTruglio was also the creepy driver guy in Superbad. That’s awesome Seth is doing the stop motion thing!

  2. Kevin Crossman

I’m not very familiar with Pegg’s material but this does look like an interesting project. Great to see Rogen doing capture stuff as well as his recognizable voice. It looks like a really large role, too.

LoTruglio is in almost as many films as Ken Jeong lately, it seems (including Role Models…).

LoTruglio and Jeong have basically bumped out David Koechner for the token 3 minute supporting roles.

Yo Kevin, get on the Pegg stuff. Netflix Spaced, Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. Hilarious, all.
