Russell Brand to Host VMAs / Jonah Hill’s “Feud” with Favreau

Jonah Hill and Russell Brand in Forgetting Sarah Marshall
We’re linking these stories because they feature the stars of the upcoming Get Him to the Greek, the sort-of sequel to Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Greek stars Jonah Hill who plays a music agent sent to attend to Russell Brand who is reprising his role as rockstar Aldous Snow.
Moving on to real news, it was announced today that Brand will return to host the 26th MTV Video Music Awards on September 13 at 9 p.m. The host raised ratings 41% last year compared to 2006’s host, Jack Black. In a quote that should surprise nobody familiar with the comic, Brand noted “this year will be a controversy-free festival of love and discrete orgasms.”
As for Hill, he’s starting to do press for Funny People opening later this month. Last evening he appeared on David Letterman and told a funny story about his experiences with Twitter.
Among the problems were the fact that he is being impersonated online and the imposter started a feud with actor/director Jon Favreau. It was a pretty funny story, so check out the clip.
