Want to learn more about Jason Schwartzman’s character in Funny People?  There’s no better place than this little bit of faux-website goodness for the popular NBC sitcom, Yo Teach…! A key storyline in Funny People involves Seth Rogen’s character being surrounded by more successful comics than himself, including roommate and ego-centric actor Mark Taylor Jackson (Schwartzman).

The website for NBC’s Yo Teach…! is straight from the regular NBC template, including ads for real shows and even consumer products. You can watch clips from the show where “Mr. Bradford” is a white guy bonding with inner-city kids.

Fans of Judd Apatow’s previous projects will recognize Carla Gallo (star of Undeclared, also The 40 Year-Old Virgin’s “toe sucking girl”,  Superbad’s “period blood girl”, and Forgetting Sarah Marshall’s “gag me girl”) in the site’s photos section (though she’s mysteriously absent from the video clips). Also, there’s a sitcom not as What’s Happening!!’s Earnest Lee Thomas plays the school’s principal.

The stuff is funny to someone like me who grew up in the 1970s and 1980s, though I wonder how much of this will go over the heads of younger viewers who are used to filmed, single-camera comedies that are de-rigueur this decade.
