Yay!

Yay!

Some news is better than no news: Will Ferrell hopes Anchorman 2 will film in a couple of years. While Ferrell’s essentially been saying the same thing for the last year, he reveals in the UK’s Zoo Magazine:

“I can tell you this; we’re going to talk to all the guys next week - Steve Carell, Paul Rudd and everybody else - to see if it’s feasible to do it, because everybody’s at different places right now, with totally different schedules.”

“So before we decide to set off into something, we want to make sure everybody is really into it and willing to make a commitment. But I think the odds are good. My next year is already booked up with stuff I’ve been working on, but hopefully we can start filming in a couple of years.

We have talked about setting it in the ’80s. Do you try to change it up and try a different era, or is it better seeing these guys stuck in the ’70s? I don’t know yet.

Take that for what it’s worth. If Anchorman 2 films, at earliest it would be in 2011, probably being released in 2012.

As for meeting with Carell and Rudd next week? We’ve heard that one before:

Setting it ten year after the first film would make sense… especially if it’s released ten years after the first film.
