Universal Sets Hill’s ‘Greek’ as Summer 2010 Tentpole
Get Him to the Greek, the spin-off of Forgetting Sarah Marshall, has been set for a June 10th 2010 release date. Universal Pictures says they have “a real winner” in Greek, timing the Jonah Hill-Russell Brand comedy to open in a release similar to The Hangover. The film is currently slated to open a week after two other comedy heavy-hitters: the Jack Black/Jason Segel adventure Gulliver’s Travels and the Robert Downey Jr./Zach Galifianakis roadtrip comedy Due Date from director Todd Phillips.
Apatow Productions’ Get Him to the Greek follows Hill playing a record label intern traveling across the country with Brand’s Sarah Marshall character Aldous Snow, in hopes of making his comeback concert in Los Angeles. Sarah Marshall director Nicolas Stoller returns as director.

This is shocking in a way, as I expected this to come around the same time as FSM’s late-spring release. But after Year One, I would say it isn’t crazy to think that Greek is the more commercially viable film (until we see a trailer for Gulliver’s Travels).
Despite P. Diddy’s presence, I’m really looking forward to this.
