Jason Segel Joins Jonah Hill’s ‘Handbook’
Major casting news on the Team Apatow front: Jason Segel will co-star alongside the Funny People duo of Jonah Hill and Jason Schwartzman in The Adventurerer’s Handbook. The script, which Hill co-wrote with writers Max Winkler and Matt Spicer, follows four childhood friends jaded by life who go on a worldwide journey inspired by the book “The Adventurer’s Handbook.”
Not straying away from his Forgetting Sarah Marshall character, Segel will play “a talented musician who never got his act together, becoming a backup piano player and an alcoholic.” Hill will play an engineer and Schwartzman plays a Grammy-winning musician. The film will be directed by The Lonely Island’s Akiva Shaffer, the man behind the camera for SNL’s Digital Shorts and 2007’s Hot Rod. Shooting is scheduled for early 2010.
Hill previously appeared with Segel in Knocked Up and Forgetting Sarah Marshall, while his next film, Get Him to the Greek, will feature songs written by… Jason Segel, who is currently wrapping up production on next June’s Gulliver’s Travels with Jack Black.

Who will the fourth friend be? Jay Baruchel? Bill Hader? Andy Samberg?
With Akiva’s involvment Im thinking Samberg

That’s another great choice!
