We’ve made veiled and subtle references to Will Ferrell’s cameo in The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard. The film starring Jeremy Piven was produced by Gary Sanchez Productions, Ferrell and Adam McKay’s production company. Given the disappointment that was Land of the Lost, some of us were really hoping that a surprise cameo from Will Ferrell would immensely please summer filmgoers out to have some laughs with The Goods

I can still remember seeing Wedding Crashers for the first time with a preview audience. I knew Ferrell had a cameo, I knew which character he played. But most of the audience did not. And when Chaz Reinhold was revealed as Will Ferrell… the audience cheered and clapped! The sound was deafening and we even missed a few lines of dialogue. So, a surprise cameo can really make a hugely positive impact for unsuspecting audiences.

Which is a long-winded way of saying I guess we can forget about that now when we go see The Goods. Today, Ferrell’s own video website FunnyOrDie.com released a clip of Ferrell from the movie. Spoiled… by Ferrell himself.

We’d normally embed the video right about here but in this case I’m going to encourage you to not view the video. Look, The Goods opens next week. You can wait a week to see Will Ferrell’s appearance, can’t you? Don’t click on the link. Wait for the cameo in the theatre. Like God himself intended.

i remember seeing wedding crashers opening night too, and the second you could see will’s face, there were cheers and a collective groan “oh nooo…” but of course it was in the good way, as in, what’s gonna happen next?!

  2. Doubt it will be released in Sweden, so I’ll have to wait for the DVD which should be out in maybe a year =/
