Adam McKay and the cast of Anchorman

Not exactly breaking news; in fact its more of the same: Director Adam McKay is the latest to state Anchorman 2 won’t film for two more years. However, he does confirm that the cast has heard the plot and finally admits they are considering somehow incorporating the 1980s:

  • On pitching the “new idea” to the cast:
We have an idea, we love it, we’ve talked to the cast and they all love it.  It’s all about the scheduling now.”
  • On setting the film in the 80s:
“We’re kinda playing with that a little bit.” “I can’t quite comment on that. But yeah, we’re goofing with that.
  • On an actual timeline, affected by filming/post-production on ‘The Other Guys’:
“We’re doing this movie , so that knocks us to another year from now,” “Maybe we’ll start writing the script during post on this. Movies take awhile, so probably the closest you would ever see it happening is two years from now.” “But we are definitely doing it, It’s just a matter of when, and scheduling.”
