Luke and Andrew Wilson, who co-directed the underrated Wendell Baker Story, will be joining forces behind the camera yet again to share helming duties on Electric Avenue.  Andrew describes the film to MTV News as “kind of like a ‘48 Hrs.’-type buddy comedy, except instead of cops, they’re reporters.”

Andrew says the film will star Luke and an unnamed co-star. While Wilson was coy on saying who Luke’s co-star could be, we remember back during the Wendell Baker press tour, talk that Electric Avenue was being written as a buddy comedy that would reunite Luke with Martin Lawrence.

Luke hopes to get Martin Lawrence for his next collaboration with Andrew, a buddy picture he’s written called “Electric Avenue.” His evolution into a writer is apparently revealing sides of Luke that are new even to his family. (Los Angeles Times, 2007)

Electric Avenue is currently slated to begin filming in January or February 2010. Andrew Wilson next appears in Drew Barrymore’s directorial debut Whip It, while Luke has two films currently awaiting release: the college comedy Tenure and the porn industry drama Middle Men.
