‘Tenure’ Update: East Coast Film Fests in October (updated)
Though the film’s distributor has been troubled, we’re still looking forward to Luke Wilson’s academic RomCom Tenure, costarring Gretchen Mol and David Koechner. Now comes word that the film will be appearing at two East Coast film festivals in October.
The film will be making it’s World Premiere at the 17th annual Hamptons International Film Festival, on October 9th and 10th at the UA East Hampton Theatre. Tickets and additional info from the festival website is available. The website also features this promo photo, the first released so far from the film.

The film will also be shown at the Philadelphia Film Festival, October 15-19. Exact showtimes for Tenure will be announced next week.
As noted by commenter Brett H., the film will also be appearing at the Austin Film Fest in late October. That film’s website has a synopsis and another photo from the movie.
After three years as a professor at Grey College, Charlie Thurber is hoping for tenure. In competition with his colleague, an attractive and seemingly more qualified professor from Yale, he tries a number of tactics that include the founding of an erotic poetry club, showing more school spirit, and the endless pursuit of getting published. Through it all, he finds that his real passion is teaching and that learning is something you’re never too old to do. He also may help his friend catch Bigfoot, they are really, really close this time.
