‘Couples Retreat’ in Theatres Today

Vince Vaughn
It doesn’t take a genius to see who is leading the charge in this weekend’s highly anticipated ensemble comedy, Couples Retreat. As a co-writer and producer, this is clearly a showcase for Vince Vaughn. While there is a plethora of talent on the screen, recent marketing has focused nearly exclusively on the Frat Pack star. In addition, early reviews describe Vince’s character always getting the last word and in some ways overshadowing the other stars.
Like this is a bad thing?
Look, we’re big fans the entire ensemble. And we want first-time director Peter Billingsley to succeed. But, let’s face it… how much we enjoy Couples Retreat doesn’t have a damn thing to do with Jean Reno or Kristin Davis. It’s all about the big guy. The babaganoush.
So, is this Vince doing his thing with familiar buddies such as Jason Bateman and Jon Favreau? Are new costars such as Malin Akerman and Kristen Bell able to blend into Vince’s world? In other words, is this a Four Christmases Vince film or more like Fred Claus?
Here are some of the best promo photos we’ve seen from the film. Will the stars of the film be sipping champagne after this weekend’s box office returns? We’ll have to see…

If it was me, I'd be happy sitting where Malin Akerman is...

There’s a scene at the end after the credits roll.
Thanks for the tip, Pru. I missed the one at the end of Zombieland.
Ugg….is this written by the same guys who made swingers and made? This movie was BAD. It had very few laughs. What a waste of talent.
