New Film for Ferrell, Helms and ‘Zombieland’ Director Being Planned?
In an article about Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer’s future project choices, it was revealed that he is “loosely” attached to direct Daddy’s Home, a potential vehicle for Will Ferrell that Ed Helms is in talks to co-star in.
The comedy, set up at Paramount for Ferrell’s Gary Sanchez Productions, centers on “a divorced man (Ferrell) whose ex-wife gets re-married to an uptight guy (Helms),” leading Ferrell’s character to re-enter the dating scene. It should be noted that “no deal is in place” for Fleischer to officially direct. Helms’ slate is complicated, as he shoots Cedar Rapids with John C. Reilly this month during a fall break from The Office, while he is locked in to film The Hangover 2 next summer.
Fleischer, hot off the success of Zombieland, is also in the running to direct the sci-fi comedy Neighborhood Watch, which Ferrell exited a few weeks ago, and Jonah Hill’s comedic adaptation of 21 Jump Street.

Will looks like Ron Perlman in that picture.
