The new movie starring Luke Wilson is starting to make the rounds of the fall festival ciruits. Tenure comes from writer-director Mike Million and despite the film’s troubled release history does seems to be getting good reviews. Certainly folks are excited by the film’s script. Tenure also stars David Koechner (Anchorman) playing Wilson’s best friend, and the always fetching Gretchen Mol as Wilson’s rival/love-interest.

The college romcom is playing at the Austin Film Festival this week, and ScriptShadow has details including the poster. There’s also a good interview with Million at the same site.

Interesting that Koechner gets billing on this one. That’s a big step up for him.

Yeah, you’d think they’d want to position this as a traditional romcom by putting Mol as the co-lead with Wilson. She’s not even shown on the poster.

It’s pretty much in order of importance, I’d say. The story is a lot more about Luke’s character’s journey, than his finding love with Gretchen Mol’s character - that’s secondary, even to Koechner’s storyline about… Nah, I’m not even going to say it, but it’s effing brilliant.

So yeah. Good, appropriate billing, I’d say.

Don’t know “Tenure” will play in Taiwan? But good news is we can watch Owen’s “Fantastic Mr. Fox” on Jan. 2010.
