Steve Carell Looking for Golfing Buddies? We Have Suggestions…

Steve Carell
Steve Carell is attached to Missing Links, a golf comedy based on a novel from Rick Reilly, according to the Hollywood Reporter’s Risky Business blog. Carell is set to produce and loosely attached to star as a golfer looking for a better place to play. Warner Brothers is setting up the deal with Carell’s Carousel Prods with The Break-Up writer Jay Lavendar doing the screenplay adaption.
According to THR, “Reilly’s 1997 comedic novel tells of the group of bumblers who, after playing for years at a run-down municipal golf course in a working-class Boston neighborhood, concoct a series of schemes that they hope will lead to them teeing off at a nearby elite club.”
Carell is a Boston native, so this project perhaps stands a slightly better chance than average of actually getting made. Plus, as Carell ages this subject matter will work well as a contemporary subject as well as something that appeals to the Frat Pack fan demographic.
Now, as for who might costar in the movie… well, we have a few suggestions for golfing enthusiasts with comedic chops.
