Dark and Depressing Ben Stiller in ‘Greenberg’ Trailer
Remember how tongues were wagging about Ben Stiller’s long and unkept hairstyle earlier this year? This was due to Stiller’s role in Greenberg from director Noah Baumbach (Margot at the Wedding). Watch the trailer below or check the high-def version over at Apple.com.
Greenberg (Ben Stiller) is at a crossroads in his life. Out of a job and none too interested in finding one, he agrees to housesit for his younger and more successful brother, thereby getting a free place to stay in Los Angeles. Once settled in, Greenberg sets out to reconnect with his old friend and former bandmate Ivan (Rhys Ifans). But times have changed, and old friends aren’t necessarily still best friends, so Greenberg finds himself spending more and more time instead with his brother’s personal assistant Florence (Greta Gerwig), an aspiring singer and herself something of a lost soul. As their relationship develops through a series of embarrassingly awkward romantic encounters, even someone as irascible as Greenberg might have at last found a reason to be happy.

Baumbach is the guy who’s friends with Wes Anderson, right? So i would assume it would be similar to an Anderson film as the two have collaborated on several Anderson projects.
In the context of the film, that look/haircut seems to actually work for him. I was a little put-off by it at first, but I’m excited for this movie.
This looks fantastic.
I love “Margot at the Wedding” very much.I can’t wait to see Noah Baumbach& Ben’s new film
Watching this trailer, it reminds us that Stiller always has this dark/sad edge to most of his “Greg Focker”-type roles, so its surprising that he hasn’t done more of this kind of film like he did in the 90s. This trailer looks like Greenberg suits him perfectly.
