McBride and Bateman at ‘Up in the Air’ Premiere
It’s been a fairly “down” year here in Fratville, especially when you consider that most the cinematic triumphs for our heroes have been in dramatic/darker roles such as Funny People, Observe and Report, and East Bound and Down. So, it kind of seems fitting that as we approach the end of the year the movie I’m most excited to see is the dramedy Up in the Air from writer-director Jason Reitman (Juno, Thank You For Smoking).

The premiere was held in Los Angeles last night and while most websites are pushing photos of some guy named Clooney we have the shots of the real stars of the film, Danny McBride and Jason Bateman. McBride plays Clooney’s future brother in law and has been featured in some commercials for the film. Bateman plays Clooney’s boss who sets the plot in motion. Not big roles, mind you, but hey… unlike some films this year (cough, Land of the Lost, cough) I am pretty sure that Up in the Air won’t suck.
