Ben Stiller Steals Idea from Lance Armstong, Asks Owen Wilson for Help

Don’t worry, it’s all for a good cause. Ben Stiller has launched a new website, STILLERSTRONG.org, and is raising money to build a school in Haiti. “Borrowing” an idea from buddy Lance Armstrong, Ben will be selling headbands for hundreds of dollars to celebrities to raise money. You can also contribute cash in smaller amounts, too.

Ben describes the mission on the website:

So what’s with the yellow headbands? Well, besides my homage to the great Lance Armstrong… I had this opportunity to visit Haiti this summer. It’s an incredible country, with amazing people and a vibrant culture. It is also one of the most impoverished places in the western hemisphere. When I was there I visited a school in Cévérine, which is in the Central Plateau region.

With Save the Children, because I assume they know how to save kids, we are raising money to expand the school, dig a drinking water well there, and set up a self sustainable crop field to help the residents keep the school going for years to come. It is only one school, but hopefully our efforts will lead to greater awareness for the education needs of the children in Haiti. If not, maybe it will bring the headband back into fashion.

Yes, the organization truly lives up to the tagline: Stillerstrong, stealing ideas from other charities to build a school in Haiti.

The site also features a video clip with addition details and some classic Ben Stiller comedy thrown in as a bonus.

In a second video, Ben enlists the “help” of his friend and Little Fockers costar, Owen Wilson. The clip features some awkward humor from Stiller-Wilson and seems to be filmed from the set of the upcoming Fockers movie. The video also includes a dog and a bicycle, two Owen Wilson comedy staples.
