Jonah Hill vs. John C. Reilly in New ‘Cyrus’ Trailer

Jonah Hill, Marisa Tomei and John C. Reilly in Cyrus
Here’s the first look at Cyrus, the Jonah Hill-John C. Reilly dark comedy that will debut at this year’s Sundance film festival. Also appearing are Marisa Tomei, Catherine Keener and The Hangover’s Matt Walsh.
On paper, the film sounds like a Step Brothers rehash: Reilly plays a divorcee, dating a single mother (Tomei), battling her 20-something son for her attention. But the trailer indicates this has a much darker tone, with Hill’s character has more of a psychotic stalker. Step Bros it ain’t, my friends. It’ll be exciting to finally see Jonah flex his acting chops. This seems like it could be some of his best work yet.
Cyrus, the first studio film by indie-filmmakers The Duplass Brothers, doesn’t have a release date, but has secured distribution by Fox Searchlight.

This could be very good. One of the Duplass brothers is in this show called The League and he is hilarious in it.
This looks awesome! Reilly is great at this adversarial stuff. Not just in Step Brothers but also opposite Seann William Scott in The Promotion. Jonah Hill has turned up the creepy factor ten times. Great looking film!
It’s like a crippled tree reaching for heaven.
So… hilarious!
