‘Get Him to the Greek’ Trailer and Poster
One of the most highly anticipated films in 2010 is Nicholas Stoller’s follow-up to Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Get Him to the Greek is a sequel of sorts pairing Russell Brand (once again playing rocker Aldous Snow) and Jonah Hill (playing a different character from his role in Sarah Marshall). This film has been in production for some time, with some concert footage being shot back as far as 2008. Set for a June 2010 release, Universal has a trailer, poster, and website for your perusal.
There are a number of good things about the trailer. First, it gives viewers a really good idea of what the film is about. P. Diddy as the mogul and Hill as the eager assistant. Check. Russell Brand as a charismatic, boozing rocking star. Double Check. And the premise that Jonah Hill will do whatever it takes to meet his goal, no matter how bad he is humiliated. It’s a formula that worked in Judd Apatow’s previous production, Superbad. And it might just work here.
Presumably it’ll be a few weeks before the requisite Red Band trailer appears, sure to include some of Hill’s classic profanity and likely shots of naked groupies. Until then, check out the all-audiences trailer and images.
Official Synopsis:
Get Him to the Greek reunites Jonah Hill and Russell Brand with Forgetting Sarah Marshall director Nicholas Stoller in the story of a record company executive with three days to drag an uncooperative rock legend to Hollywood for a comeback concert. The comedy is the latest film from producer Judd Apatow (The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Knocked Up, Funny People).
Aaron Green (Hill) gets things done. The ambitious 24-year-old has been given a career-making assignment. His mission: Fly to London and escort a rock god to L.A.’s world famous Greek Theatre for the first-stop on a huge comeback tour. His record mogul boss, Sergio Roma (Sean Combs), gives him one warning: “The artist is the worst person on Earth. Turn your back on him at your own peril.”
British rocker Aldous Snow (Brand) is a brilliant musician, but due to a bad break up and nose-diving career, has fallen off the wagon and is now a drunken disaster. Weary of “yes men” and scared he’s entered the “greatest hits” moment in his career, Snow’s in the midst of a nihilistic downward spiral. When he learns his true love, model/pop star Jackie Q (Rose Byrne), is in Los Angeles, Aldous makes it his quest to win her back…right before kick-starting his world domination.
As the countdown to the concert begins, one innocent young man must navigate a minefield of London drug smuggles, New York City brawls and Vegas lap dances to deliver his charge safe and, sort of, sound… all while trying to remain faithful to his med student girlfriend (Elisabeth Moss). He may have to coax, lie to, enable and party with Aldous, but Aaron will get him to the Greek.

I dig it, first frat pack project trailer for 2010 that has me interested.
Seems more like a companion piece to Superbad than Sarah Marshall, but that’s a good thing. I like what I see, but could do without those extreme closeups.
This is kinda weird, it doesn’t sound like Jonah is playing the same character as the one in “Forgetting Sarah Marshall,” and I don’t know why he wouldn’t? Kinda dissapointing if it’s not..
He’s definitely not playing the same character. Though, clearly, the two characters are cut from the same cloth. I’d say this guy is a mix of the creepy guy from FSM and the “do whatever it takes” Seth from Superbad.
