Ansari and McBride in Talks for ‘30 Minutes or Less’

Aziz Ansari and Danny McBride are in talks to star in the action-comedy 30 Minutes or Less, produced by Ben Stiller and Stuart Cornfeld, which Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer has just signed on to direct.
The film, which will shoot this summer during Ansari’s break from Parks and Recreation, was on this year’s Black List (Hollywood’s list of the best unproduced screenplays) focuses on a high school teacher (Ansari) and a pizzan delivery man (McBride) “forced to rob a bank when one of them is strapped to a bomb vest.”
Ansari and McBride previously had memorable cameos in Observe and Report, though they did not share any scenes. McBride will co-headline this October’s Your Highness with James Franco, and recently signed on to star in L.A.P.I., in addition to being scheduled to film Eastbound and Down’s second season. Ansari will headline a nationwide stand-up comedy tour this summer, has a cameo in June’s Get Him to the Greek, and is rumored to be hosting this year’s MTV Movie Awards. Ansari is also currently developing three separate film projects for Judd Apatow and Universal Pictures.
i’m not a fan of ansari so far. didn’t find him funny at all in funny people.
I agree, watching him in Funny People was ugly. But he was funny in O&R and looks to be funny in the Greek movie.
He’s really funny on Parks & Rec
I didn’t like McBride at first, in Heartbreak Kid, but have warmed to him a lot. And I HATED Ansari at first. But also am liking him more on Parks and Rec and even in Funny People.
I’ve always liked McBride. “PLEASE come inside! We are going to play PARCHEESI!”-funniest line in HBK.
Ansari’s stand-up is funny, but the charachters he plays are hit or miss. I think Tom on P&R is a good fit for him.

actually it is similar now that I looked it up. whether that’s a coincidence or not, I don’t know.

apparently he was in on it too but was not aware originally that it was going to be a real bomb. so technically he was forced to wear it after they threatened him with a gun.
