Bad Photoshop Award: ‘Gulliver’s Travels’ One-Sheet

Jack Black
In what is the worst example of poster imagery since Land of the Lost, the one-sheet for Jack Black’s holiday film Gulliver’s Travels was released today. And, boy, is it… not great.
Gulliver’s Travels open in time for Christmas on December 22, and features 3D that in this case might actually be a good gimmick, rather than a poor one. This project has been in the can for a while, but we haven’t heard much about the film until now. Let’s hope that the trailer and future promotions will improve on this not-so-great poster.
Also, Jason Segel is the costar for this film, but he isn’t mentioned anywhere on the poster. We all know Jack Black is a bigger star, but Segel’s last two starring roles in Forgetting Sarah Marshall and I Love You, Man both performed well at the box office (better than Black’s last starring role in Year One as a matter of fact…). So, you’d think he’d get some love.

I can’t stop staring at his face. He doesn’t look real. It’s like they took Jack’s image and tried to animate him in a “Polar Express” fashion.
They also seemed to have put Jack on quite the diet…
His mouth looks like something from Planet of the Apes
Funny, Rick.
Kevin does not say what is wrong with it in his perception. I don’t get what he doesn’t like about it. The comments are weak. Identify what you see to be bad about it. The photoshop job, the composition, what is wrong with it? It looks good to me. Infact, better than good, it looks totaly pro, his mouth is open, aghast at his situation, he looks his normal weight and height so he is in proportion, infact what gives here? explain?
What’s wrong with this? How about the fact that it looks fakedy fake fake?
[...] on some of the truly awful movie posters of recent years (who could forget Land of the Lost and Gulliver’s Travels). But, Woody Allen’s new movie is opening at Cannes in May and the poster is truly inspired. [...]
