One of the year’s most high-profile comedies, Get Him to the Greek, is now in theaters. The Forgetting Sarah Marshall spin-off has received a majority of positive reviews (75% on RottenTomatoes as of early Friday), some calling it this year’s successor to The Hangover. Many critics are hailing Sean ‘P. Diddy’ Combs as the breakthrough scene stealer, others highlighting the raunchier humor than the film’s predecessor. Box office analysts are predicting an opening between $17-18 million, identical to Sarah Marshall, from approximately 2,700 theaters across the United States.

We want to know what our readers think. Where does it rank in the Team Apatow pantheon? Did Jonah Hill and Russell Brand carry the film? Any standout quotes? Which trailers got the best reaction?

Post your comments all weekend long!

It was much better than I expected

I don’t understand why this site didn’t think it would be good?

It was definitely good for any Russell Brand fans. There were many standout quotes and the soundtrack was amazing. Seems like it could be this year’s best comedy.. though there is not much else coming out this year that look too good.

Saw it yesterday. Definitely worth seeing, though it does not transcend the way Forgetting Sarah Marshall did. Hill is great but Sean Combs steals the show.

Alex, we didn’t say we didn’t think it would be good (though I still stand by my assessment of the first five minutes) - but more that the marketing lacked.

I just bought the soundtrack on iTunes. Bangers, Beans & Mash sounds really good on multiple plays. Definitely sounds like something Segel wrote, very “Dracula’s Lament”-meets-”We’ve Got to Do Something”
