Danny McBride Set for ‘Bullies’
Deadline is reporting that Danny McBride will be starring in and producing Bullies, a film about two longtime bullies who get their comeuppance.
Mandate has made a deal for Bullies, a comedy based on an original idea by McBride about two brothers who finally get a comeuppance after bullying people their whole lives. Yes Man scribes Andrew Mogel and Jarrad Paul will write the script. McBride will produce with his Rough House Pictures partners David Gordon Green, Jody Hill and Matt Reilly. Mandate’s Nathan Kahane will be executive producer.

This is right in McBride roundhouse, as he often known for verbal abuse (Eastbound & Down, The Heartbreak Kid) but also suffering from physical retaliation (Pineapple Express, Tropic Thunder). To date, everything McBride has done with Green and Hill has been outstanding, so clearly we should be looking forward to this project.
The biggest question, obviously, is who will play the other brother. Will Ferrell would be the logical choice, but is probably too expensive and is also coming off a similarly themed sibling comedy Step Brothers. If you wanted to go the fat/skinny comedy team route, Will Arnett or Matt Walsh might make good choices.

Danny with Jason Segel might be a fun combo. If he chooses to go a familiar route, he had some funny chemistry with Craig Robinson

Jason Segel, yes. Or Bill Hader would be great. TJ Miller would be perfect for the role in SOOML he plays a good tough guy role and same with GHTTG. Hilarious!
