New ‘Middle Men’ Trailer and Poster

Luke Wilson
A new trailer and poster were revealed today for Luke Wilson’s upcoming film, Middle Men. Set for wide release on August 6, the film is a reality-based drama about the early days of commerce on the internet, putting Wilson’s protagonist in the middle of a world filled with crime, porn, and drugs.
Set in 1995, Middle Men tells the based-on-reality story of Jack Harris (Luke Wilson), a family man who teams up with Wayne Beering (Giovanni Ribisi) and Buck Dolby (Gabriel Macht) in finding a way to distribute pornography over the then-unknown internet. Finding that success comes with a lot more than he bargained for in the form of starlets, conmen, Russian mobsters, federal agents and international terrorists.
The new trailer relies on extensive narration from Wilson, an effective tool for many moviegoers who were too young to remember the early days of internet commerce. You can view the trailer on Apple’s website.
Paramount Vantage also released an updated poster. They’ve yet to update the film’s official website with the new branding and images, but one hopes that’s just a matter of time. I’ve been saying for a long time that this film is Luke Wilson’s comeback vehicle and all the pieces are starting to come together. Earlier marketing efforts for the film relied more on costars Ribisi and Macht, but they’re barely noticeable in the new trailer. I think the new trailer looks absolutely fantastic and really hope it succeeds at the box office.
