Vince Vaughn Tempts Fate, Skydives

Flying through the air is kind of an interesting topic here in Fratville, what with the 2006 “Will Ferrell died in a hang-gliding accident” rumor that went around, plus Ferrell’s hilarious story from Wedding Crashers (”Dude died in a hang-gliding accident. What an idiot!”). So, when Vince Vaughn says he is going to jump out of an airplane our hearts stop at least for a moment.

But, there the big guy was this weekend, appearing at the 52nd annual Chicago Air and Water show.  Vaughn jumped with the Golden Knights, the Army’s parachute team. He jumped from an estimated 12,500 feet shortly and touched down onto the sand at North Avenue Beach.

As is often the case, Vaughn jumped in tandem with an experienced Golden Knights parachutist. And while we applaud Vaughn for his vocal and consistent support of the troops, you have to believe he was just a little bit more “thankful” this past Saturday.
