Leslie Mann

One of Leslie Mann’s recent roles was in the non-Frat Pack film 17 Again. The “switching bodies” genre is welcoming Mann back into a new project that is most like not-for-tweens.

Mann is reportedly set to join Jason Bateman and Ryan Reynolds in The Change-Up, a comedy about a “married guy who accidentally changes bodies with his single best friend and ends up pursuing a female coworker.” Also starring is Olivia Wilde (Year One).

The Universal project is to be directed by David Dobkin (Fred Claus) and the script is from  Jon Lucas and Scott Moore (The Hangover and Four Christmases) who had uncredited rewrites on Dobkin’s signature hit, Wedding Crashers. The film is slated to be released in August 2011.

Let’s assume for a second that this will be R-rated or at least a very adult-skewing “hard” PG-13. If so, this sounds like the kind of ensemble project all three leads have distinguished themselves in previously. For Mann, this is yet another step out of the shadows of her prolific husband Judd Apatow’s shadow.  One presumes that Bateman is the married guy and Reynolds is the single one.

This probably indicates the previously announced Business Trip starring Mann has been shelved or at least delayed.

A lot of A-List talent in this one, on & off the screen.
