Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson

Pajiba has the scoop that Vince Vaughn is attached to the action comedy 2 Guns for Universal Pictures, which Owen Wilson is “interested” in co-starring. The script, from cop-drama writer Blake Masters, following two lawmen plotting a bank robbery together, each under the instruction of their employers. The twist is neither of the two realize they both come from law enforcement, as both try to track who is behind the crime. 2 Guns has yet to announce a director.

Back in 2005, Wilson and Vaughn were previously set to reunite for the now-defunct project Outsourced which would have taken the two on a quest to find their jobs in Mexico. Both actors have mentioned wanting to work with each other in various interviews over the years, but 2 Guns appears to be the first project mentioned specifically for the duo following the Outsourced debacle.

Wilson has five big films coming up, including November’s How Do You Know with Paul Rudd, December’s Little Fockers with Ben Stiller, February’s Hall Pass, summer’s The Big Year with Jack Black and next fall’s Woody Allen-directed Midnight in Paris. Vaughn will next be seen in The Dilemma, a comedy about gay electric cars.
