Amy Adams, Rashida Jones Joining Segel’s ‘Muppet’ Movie

Amy Adams is in negotiations to star alongside Jason Segel in a new Muppet movie (tentatively titled The Greatest Muppet Movie Ever Made), according to reports. Adams would play the girlfriend of Segel, who also wrote the script with Forgetting Sarah Marshall director Nicholas Stoller. Production is slated to start next month for a Christmas 2011 release.
In addition to Adams, the suddenly-everywhere Rashida Jones is also set to join the project. Jones would play a television executive in the film (and since the Muppets are owned by Disney, she’d naturally be working for ABC). Jones previously worked with Segel in I Love You, Man, Friends with Benefits (coming 2011) and Freaks and Geeks.
