Carell (x2), Reilly, McBride and others Score Satellite Award Nominations

Steve Carell
The International Press Academy announced their Satellite Award nominations for movies and television yesterday, and several of our favorites were nominated. The complete list of nominations is available on their website.
Notable nominations included:
Steve Carell was nominated for Actor in a Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical for Dinner for Schmucks. Carell is competing against Michael Cera (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) and John C. Reilly (Cyrus) amongst others.
- Scott Pilgrim, Cyrus, and The Other Guys were among the nominees for Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical
- Reilly’s Cyrus costar Marisa Tomei was nominated. Sadly, no nomination again for Jonah Hill.
- Despicable Me was nominated Motion Picture, Animated or Mixed Media, thanks in large part to Carell who’s voice was in nearly every scene. It competes with How to Train Your Dragon amongst others.
Carell was also nominated, as is typical, for Actor in a Series, Comedy or Musical. But, breaking through alongside stallwarts such as Alec Baldwin and Jim Parsons is none other than Danny McBride from Eastbound & Down. This is the first nomination for McBride in this role, and is long overdue for recognition.
In the Motion Picture, Drama category, James Franco was nominated for 127 Hours. It is widely expected that Franco will score an Oscar nomination, so from here on out if there are award nominations just assume Franco is on the list unless we say otherwise, okay?
