After a fairly disappointing holiday season here in Fratville, we have two new releases opening today from our Frat Pack stars. Which to see?

Vince Vaughn or Seth Rogen this Weekend?

Vince Vaughn or Seth Rogen this Weekend?

The Dilemma stars Vince Vaughn, Kevin James, Jennifer Connelly, Winona Ryder, Queen Latifah, and Channing Tatum, with Oscar winner Ron Howard at the helm of his first comedy in years. The film mixes buddy and relationship comedy genres, and targets the same adult demographic as Date Night and Couples Retreat. Box office estimates for the opening weekend vary between high teen millions to upper $20 millions. Anything below $15m will be seen as a disappointment, and anything north of $28m will feel like a rousing success. Reviews have been poor.

The Green Hornet stars Seth Rogen, Jay Chou, Cameron Diaz, and Christoph Waltz, with Oscar winner Michel Gondry at the helm of his first action movie. The film mixes buddy and superhero genres, and targets the same young male demographic as Superbad and Iron Man. Box office estimates for the opening weekend vary between high $20 millions to upper $30 millions. Anything below $20m will be seen as a disappointment, and anything north of $35m will feel like a rousing success. Reviews have been mixed.

Those of us in the U.S. are heading into long Martin Luther King holiday weekend, which increasingly has been a big weekend for moviegoers. So, both films are expected to do good business.

The question is, which film is going to get your attention this weekend?

Green Hornet, there is no dilemma here (see what I did there).

Although the Green Hornet looks good, I feel like seeing ‘The Dilemma’.

I saw The Green Hornet too and I’d give it a C.
I’m on the fence about seeing The Dilemma though.

as we were pulling into the theater parking lot we almost changed our minds about seeing “Green Hornet” and thought about seeing “The Dilemma” instead. We stayed with our original plan and saw “Hornet”. Glad we did. Hornet was fun and very funny. I’m sure Dilemma is a funny flick too. It’s on our list. I’d give Hornet a B.
