This year’s Oscar lucky charm? Danny McBride. His-costars from Your Highness‘ (James Franco and Natalie Portman), 30 Minutes or Less (Jesse Eisenberg) and Eastbound and Down (John Hawkes) are among this year’s Oscar nominees.

Oscar host James Franco received his expected Best Actor nomination for 127 Hours, where he will compete with The Social Network’s Jesse Eisenberg. Natalie Portman is officially the front runner for Best Actress, continuing her award season lucky streak for Black Swan. McBride’s TV brother John Hawkes scored a surprise Best Supporting Actor nomination for Winter’s Bone.

Not on McBride’s costar list (unless he pops up in The Muppets), but familiar face around these parts, Amy Adams scored her third nomination for The Fighter. The 83rd Annual Academy Awards, with hosts James Franco and Anne Hathaway, air Sunday, February 27th on ABC.

Editor’s Note: Think we’re kidding about McBride as an Oscar nominee lucky charm? His co-stars George Clooney in Up in the Air and Robert Downey Jr in Tropic Thunder also got nominations during those films’ respective years.

Vera Farmiga, playing McBride’s sister-in-law, also scored a nomination for Up in the Air.

BTW - it’s a damn shame that Scott Pilgrim didn’t get a Visual Effect nom after being short-listed.

Vera didn’t play McBride’s sister-in-law, she was just Clooney’s date for the wedding.

Yeah idk if it should have gotten nominated for Visual Effects, but it deserved a best film editing nom
