Gary Sanchez’s latest movie project is Tim and Eric’s Billion Dollar Movie, which saw a red-band trailer release this week. The movie stars and is directed by Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim, who previously created Tim and Eric’s Awesome Show for Adult Swim. Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly, Zach Galifianakis, Will Forte, Jeff Goldblum, and others appear in the film.
The red-band trailer is shown below, and this looks like a very hard R. It also looks really, really weird. In another unusual move, the film will be available on Pay-per-View / On-Demand services Janurary 27, prior to the film’s theatrical release on March 2nd.
I’m liking the increasing presence of InDemand options. Kinda like with Kevin Smith’s Red State, it was nice to have the option to see something on InDemand that wasn’t worth seeing in theaters, but not have to wait 4 months for the video release.
VOD is cool and all. But price is a factor. Not paying big buck$ for Tim and Eric. Certainly not the $50+ that was bandied about for Tower Heist.
