Variety is reporting that Seth Rogen has signed to produce and most likely star in The B-Team for Disney. This would be Rogen’s first foray into live-action family fare, after a string of voice work in animated films such as Horton Hears a Who! and Kung Fu Panda. The plot revolves around¬† a top agent who gets kidnapped and must depend on his nerdy tech support and research team to save him.

This seems like a good way to branch out for Rogen, who would most likely be on the “nerdy tech support” side of the cast. It might be fun to cast a handsome actor with good comedy chops to star as the “top agent” (yes, we thinking James Franco just like you are). ¬†Of course, with a title such as The B-Team, perhaps the focus will be on the nerdy side rather than the top agent side (shades of the direct-to-view Get Smart sequel Bruce and Lloyd Out of Control).

Rogen is in the news thanks to his new participation on Twitter, an effort to promote his upcoming live event to benefit Hilarity for Charity. That event takes place on January 13 in Los Angeles and features appearances by Bruno Mars, Judd Apatow, Aziz Ansari, and Charlyne Yi.

Speaking of Aziz, wouldn’t he also make a decent member of the tech support team?
