Ben Stiller Debuts Cameo-Heavy Web Parody, ‘Burning Love’

Ben Stiller and his Red Hour pals have debuted a new web series for Yahoo! called Burning Love. The show is a satire of reality dating shows such as The Bachelor and returns Stiller to the genre where he broke into mainstream pop culture with The Ben Stiller Show twenty years ago. Three episodes have been released so far and new episodes will be released on Mondays and Thursdays.

The first episode features Ken Marino (Role Models) in front of the camera as the firefighter bachelor and behind the camera as the director. The episode features Stiller and wife Christine Taylor in a cameo as the previous season’s “winners”, then introduces the ladies who will be competing on the new season. This group includes a host of familiar faces including Malin Akerman (The Heartbreak Kid), Kristen Bell (Couples Retreat), Carla Gallo (The 40 Year-Old Virgin), June Diane Raphael (Year One), Noureen DeWulf (The Comebacks) and Ken Jeong (The Hangover). Jennifer Aniston appears in the panda suit. Actors appearing include Adam Scott (Step Brothers), Michael Ian Black, and Matt Besser (Walk Hard).

Synopsis

Live on the Yahoo! Comedy Channel now, Burning Love follows fireman Mark Orlando (Ken Marino) as he searches for the perfect woman. The scripted comedy series features an impressive line up of comedic actors from film and television including Ken Marino, Malin Akerman, Kristen Bell, Michael Ian Black, Adam Scott and more.

Burning Love gives viewers a front row seat to the champagne toasts, candles, heartbreak, bubble baths, chocolate, choreography, hair extensions, roller skating, betrayal, spray-tans, and rainbows in the most romantic, comedic web series ever made.

The series is executive produced by Red Hour’s Ben Stiller, Stuart Cornfeld and Mike Rosenstein, Abominable Pictures’ Jonathan Stern, Ken Marino and Erica Oyama with Paramount’s Insurge Pictures distributing the project. The series is written by Erica Oyama and directed by Ken Marino.
