Nice clip from our friends at HitFix who asked about a Zoolander sequel during The Watch press junket.  In the interview Ben Stiller says:

I would love to make Zoolander 2, and it’s just a matter of getting all the pieces in place. We have a script that we really like. I think it will happen when it’s meant to happen. I’m so appreciative of people who love the first one, and it would be really fun to do another one. The circumstances have to come together, but I’m hoping they will.

Some commented on Jonah Hill looking at his watch during Stiller’s response, even though Hill has been rumored for a plum role in the sequel. No bad body language from Vince Vaughn, though (fans remember that Vaughn had a silent cameo as Derek Zoolander’s brother Luke in the original film).

Meanwhile, in a different interview with Collider Stiller was not as hopeful when he said “We have a script, as we’ve had for a little while, and it’s not quite coming together right now but I hope it does.  I would like to do it at some point in the future.” So, I guess we don’t really know what is exactly happening. Of course, it’s hard not to think the success or failure of Anchorman 2 could impact the probabilities of a Zoolander sequel, as it too was a relative under performer on initial release and also has a sizable and expensive cast to accommodate.
