Luke Wilson is in final negotiations to reteam with his Blonde Ambition director Scott Marshall for the indie sports comedy Million Dollar Man. Wilson would play a route driver for a soda company who is given a new lease as a football kicker, according to Variety.

The film, sadly, would continue Wilson’s recent career trajectory where his projects are nearly always indie productions. One wishes he would be given his own new lease on life in a major studio film. Worse, Blonde Ambition was universally panned and largely for good reason. Thanks to a terrible script, poor production values, and atrocious acting by costar Jessica Simpson, the film was an incredible flop. The only saving grace was an over-the-top performance from Andy Dick. One can hope that for the Ambition team there is nowhere to go but up.

Wilson will also be seen in the upcoming second season of HBO’s dramedy Enlightened this fall.
