Frequent costars Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader will reteam again for The Skeleton Twins, a new film expected to start shooting next month.  Wiig seems to be replacing Anna Faris who previously discussed the project as being “serious.” The Duplass Brothers are producing, according to Variety.

According to Indiewire, the film features Wiig and Hader as twins who defy death on the same day, causing them to reflect on their lives. In Wiig’s case, this is with her marriage to a nice guy frat guy played by Luke Wilson (playing against type, obviously…). Meanwhile, Hader’s character comes to terms with his relationship with an old flame, Rich, who may want to keep the past the past.  Though Hader is famous for his gay stereotyped Stefon character on SNL, it would appear that this is a more serious effort.

The SNL stars have appeared together on screen as a married couple in Adventureland. Both have also appeared in Knocked Up, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Paul, The Brothers Solomon, and Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs.

Finally a nice-sized film role for Hader! He’s already one-year passed his original SNL contract, so this makes you wonder…
