Art Gallery Opens Judd Apatow Tribute

If you’re in the Los Angeles area, time to get your geek (and freak) on by heading over to Gallery 1988 on Melrose to catch their Tribute to Judd Apatow. The show runs between December 4 through December 30 and if the sample images shown over at /Film this appears to be a film geek’s wet dream (and critics call us fanboys!). There’s a lot of emphasis on the core Apatow hits such as Knocked Up and Superbad as well as Anchorman. Sadly, I’m not seeing much love for Walk Hard.

A Tribute to Judd Apatow opens from 7-10 p.m. December 4 and remains on display through December 30 at Gallery 1988, 7020 Melrose Ave., Los Angeles. You must RSVP to attend the opening and some spots are still available. Email For more information, visit

Since we’re in geek mode, we’ll remind readers that our little corner of the internet has already done some Apatow artwork already. Way back in 2007, it was cool to create faux South Park characters and Karen Pok created this one of the Knocked Up movie poster.

This image was later seen in the Apatow Productions offices in the Apatow Backlash video from Funny or Die. The ironic part of that video, which was intended to promote Walk Hard, which bombed in the theater just days after the video was released. Karen Pok won an Earmuff Award in 2007 for her contribution.
