Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig were not nominated this year at the 70th Golden Globe Awards, but demonstrated award-winning improvisation skills during their award presentation. The pair announced the winners of the Best Actress in a Comedy/Musical (won by Jennifer Lawrence - or “JLaw” as Ferrell quipped). The improv-vets claimed they had seen all the films but obviously did not as they improvised a hilarious and obviously incorrect description of each film.

In other Golden Globes news, hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler were funny and fetching. The pair cracked jokes during the monologue and even made fun of themselves during their award for Best Actress in a TV Comedy by mugging for cameras with Jennifer Lopez and George Clooney. Poehler’s joke about Zero Dark Thirty director Kathryn Bigelow was perhaps the best of the night, saying “When it comes to torture, I trust the lady who was married to James Cameron for three years.”

Jack Black was an expected loser in the Best Actor Musical/Comedy with Hugh Jackman taking home the prize. Judd Apatow got some screen time as the Producer of Girls, which won for Best TV Series Comedy or Musical. Jonah Hill appeared with Megan Fox and got in a few jokes pretending he was avoiding her romantic advances. Paul Rudd presented an award with Salma Hayek but a teleprompter snafu caused a moment of uncomfortable silence. Rudd’s hair is looking quite long today, meaning that’s it’s nearly the perfect length for filming Anchorman 2 as Brian Fantana.
