‘Internship’ Poster Debuts

The promotional campaign for Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson’s The Internship has begun, with Collider debuting the film’s official poster.  Using the same strategy as Wedding Crashers, two stars in front of a white background, this poster uses the same technique with a twist: Vaughn and Wilson in front of a Google browser.  The duo play a pair of old-time salesmen who, after losing their jobs, take an internship at Google headquarters.  Google is using the product placement to full effect, allowing the film’s title to parody its own corporate logo, using the same font and colors.

The Internship rolls into theaters on June 7th, 2013.

Am looking forward to all the Google-related tie-ins for this film. Actually, not really.

I like the poster concept, though.

Oy. Not very inspired, in my opinion. It’s cute-clever and a little too desperate “to be NOW” - which makes it feel so yesterday. Remove the two main guys, and this looks like the poster for a Nancy Meyers film, not a Wedding Crashers-type film.

  3. Interesting that Vaughn is top-billed (a reverse of the billing in Wedding Crashers).
