Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson to “Hangout” on Google+ on February 13; Trailer to Debut (Updated with Video of Event)
As a promotional vehicle for the upcoming Google-themed comedy The Internship, Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson will be hanging out live on Google+ on February 13.
On Wednesday, February 13 at 11am PT, Vince, Owen and host Conan O’Brien will debut the film’s trailer, share stories about shooting on Google’s campus, and chat with real Google interns. Submit your questions for Vince and Owen using the hashtag #TheInternship and RSVP on the event page.
The film will be released on June 7 and marks the first highly anticipated reteaming of the Wedding Crashers duo. A poster for the film has already been released so release of the trailer is most definitely big news. As you might recall, the teaser trailer for Wedding Crashers really sold that film and created a buzz, and given recent box office returns for Vaughn and Wilson they’re gonna need as much buzz as possible. That Google continues to play a major part of the campaign is itself interesting and must be a sign of confidence in the film.
Ain’t it Cool News posted word from a test screening. The poster said that he did not like Wedding Crashers yet found The Internship “very funny with good a heart.” The review also spoils two cameos (including one most Frat Fans should already be aware of), so click on the link at your own risk. In any case, the positive review is another indication that this will be the funny hit we all hope it will be.
Here’s a video promoting the event, which includes some footage from the film.
Here’s the footage of the hangout, which runs about an hour.
