Jonah Hill Wins Three Earmuff Awards; 21 Jump Street wins Nine including Best Picture
Jonah Hill capped a banner year winning three awards leading the award winners at 7th Annual Frat Pack Earmuff Awards, site creator Kevin Crossman announced. Hill was recently named Frat Pack Man of the Year by the site and won three awards, including Best Actor and Best Performance by Frat Pack Friend for 21 Jump Street as well as Best Supporting Actor for The Watch. Hill’s passion project 21 Jump Street led all films with nine Earmuffs including Best Picture, Best Scene-Play, Best Visual Effects, Best Use of Drugs, Best Costume Design, Best Hair, and Best Celebrity Cameo for Johnny Depp and Peter DeLuise.
Meanwhile, Hill’s other film The Watch won four Earmuffs including Best Sex Scene, and Best Catch Phrase (”The ball sucking was real eye opening”). The Campaign won two awards including Best Sex Scene (in a tie with The Watch) and Best Character for Zack Galifianakis’ character Marty Huggins.
The Apatow family were favorites of the Frat Pack Tribute site readers, who voted for this year’s awards. Judd Apatow won Best Director for This is 40 while working with his and daughters on the film. Leslie Mann won the award for Best Actress, reprising her Earmuff Award winning role that she originated with Knocked Up. Maude Apatow worked with her parents for the third time and took home her first Earmuff Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Will Ferrell took a chance with a Spanish-language comedy Casa de mi Padre, which was nominated for 11 awards but took home none. Ferrell did win two awards including his memorable appearance announcing that an Anchorman sequel will be shot this year. Jack Black and Kyle Gass returned with a new Tenacious D album and won the award for Best Musical Moment. Seth Rogen’s unexpected turn in the HBO series Eastbound & Down won the award for Best Frat Pack Cameo. Friend-of-the-Pack Bradley Cooper won the award for Best Dramatic Performance for his Oscar-nominated role in Silver Linings Playbook.
Among the humiliations suffered by Lance Armstrong was that his namesake was removed from the Best Celebrity Cameo Earmuff Award. The Frat Pack Tribute editors will not be haunted for the rest of their life for this editorial decision as the disgraced cyclist won the Andy Dick Award for Dubious Achievement after it was revealed he was a steroid bully.
The Frat Pack Tribute presented two special awards. The award for Best Trend was awarded to Megan Fox for showing she has comedic chops. The This is 40 actress was nominated for two Earmuff Awards and appeared in comedic roles in The Dictator and Friends with Kids as well.
