‘This is The End’ Character Posters Are (Mostly) Awesome

The marketing team at Columbia seem to be doing a great job selling the ensemble comedy This is The End. A new series of character posters have been released and seem to highlight the personalities of most of the film’s leads.

The angelic Jonah Hill poster seems to play off the film’s portrayal of Hill as newly knighted Hollywood royalty, while the devilish Danny McBride poster keys on the actor’s stereotype as an antagonist. ┬áThe posters for Craig Robinson and Jay Baruchel, however, seem to be nearly identical and seem to reinforce the perception that they’re in the film to mostly scream and look scared. ┬áNonetheless, these posters that also feature James Franco writer/directory/star Seth Rogen are still pretty great.

This is The End is set for release on June 12. Here’s the official synopsis:

Six friends ( Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel, James Franco, Craig Robinson, Danny McBride and Jonah Hill) are trapped in a house after a series of strange and catastrophic events devastate Los Angeles. As the world unravels outside, dwindling supplies and cabin fever threaten to tear apart the friendships inside. Eventually, they are forced to leave the house, facing their fate and the true meaning of friendship and redemption.

A new international trailer has been released with a few additional moments from the film including a nice put-down from Franco directed at McBride.

Danny’s poster is so awesome. Seth looks like Harold Ramis

If you’re comparing to Harold Ramis, I’d say Seth Rogen has a little bit of a Spengler look to him.
