David Gordon Green’s return to indie filmmaking looks like a great project after big buzz at Sundance. Prince Avalanche stars Paul Rudd and Emile Hirsch as two mismatched coworkers and is set for release in theaters and on VOD on August 9. The film’s trailer was released and EW has the poster as well.

This is Green’s first film since both of his 2011 comedies Your Highness and The Sitter flopped, though he directed several great episodes of Eastbound & Down in 2012.

Synopsis:

A remake of the 2011 Icelandic film¬†Either Way,¬†David Gordon Green’s quirky character study tells the tale of Alvin and Lance, two polar opposites from the city who nurture an unlikely friendship while repainting traffic lines on a damaged country road during the summer of 1988.
