After years of memorable supporting turns, Adam Scott is getting another shot at a starring role in the upcoming indie dramedy A.C.O.D. (Adult Children of Divorce). Scott plays a man who’s parents (Richard Jenkins and Catherine O’Hara) still battle decades after their divorce. After being forced to confront his own related personal problems when his younger brother (Clark Duke) is getting married, Scott’s character seeks out a childhood therapist played by Jane Lynch. Turns out that Lynch’s character wasn’t a therapist but a scholar and wrote a book with Scott’s character as the central figure. Scott’s Parks & Recreation costar Amy Poehler appears as Jenkins’ new wife and Jessica Alba plays a love-interest.

That’s a whole lot of talent on screen in the feature directing debut of┬áStuart Zicherman, who also wrote the film. In some respects this feels a bit like Scott’s last starring role in the under-appreciated indie 2011 dramedy Friends with Kids. In any case, this most definitely looks interesting.
