‘Foxcatcher’ with Steve Carell Shifted to 2014 (Updated: Teaser Trailer)
Sony Pictures Classics has decided to delay the planned December 20 opening of Bennet Miller’s Foxcatcher to 2014. The film stars Steve Carell, Channing Tatum, and Mark Ruffalo and is based on the true events of John Du Pont (Carell). According to the Deadline article, the move was made so that the filmmakers “can have more time to finish the film.”
The film had been generating Oscar buzz based on Miller’s track record and still shots featuring a meanacing and almost unrecognizable Carell. Don’t feel too bad for Carell, though. He’s got another film opening on December 20 that you might have heard of (hint: it’s kind of a big deal).
In a bit of very weird timing, a teaser trailer for the film has been released.
