As 2013 winds down, it’s time to start looking forward to 2014 where there are several comedies that are highly anticipated here in Fratville.

First up is the sequel to the surprise box office hit and critical darling, 21 Jump Street. The new film reunites stars Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum for new adventures as undercover cops. Ice Cube, Rob Riggle and Dave Franco return from the first film. There are red-band and green-band trailers below and I’m afraid this looks a bit too “been there, done that” for my taste, though I have to say Nick Offerman’s read-between-the-lines dialogue is as wonderful as ever. 22 Jump Street is scheduled for release on June 13, 2014.

There still isn’t a trailer for Sex Tape, which reunites Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel (and also stars Jack Black), thought there’s plenty of Bad Teacher vibe going on in The Other Woman. Diaz plays a mistress who befriends the wife (Leslie Mann) of her lover, and the two plot to ruin the guy. Diaz and Mann seem well cast, and cinematic newcomer Kate Upton is sure to turn heads and maybe balance the gender demographics for the film when it’s released on April 25.

Lastly, there’s a new trailer for Neighbors, featuring Seth Rogen, Zac Efron, Rose Byrne, and Dave Franco. Directed by Nick Stoller (Get Him to the Greek), this raunchy comedy opens on May 9 and appears to be an example of Rogen sticking with his R-rated comedy safe zone. The new trailer shows more of the relationship with Rogen and Byrne and it seems there’s some hope that two have chemistry.
