Adam Scott Delivers Final ‘Greatest Event in TV History’ with Paul Rudd
Adam Scott’s series of specials for Adult Swim, The Greatest Event in Television History, has been amusing over the past two years. Prior specials have costarred Jon Hamm and Amy Poehler, but the latest and final special costars Paul Rudd. The latest special centers on a shot-for-shot remake of the opening credits to the 1980 television series Bosom Buddies, which was Tom Hanks’ breakthrough role (some of us are old enough to remember Hanks as “that guy from Bosom Buddies” and not “that guy from Splash” or “that guy from Forrest Gump“).
It’s worth watching the entire episode, which features some big cameos and another gonzo performance from June Diane Raphael playing Scott’s wife. Rudd in particular delivers a series of hilarious one-liners during the “behind the scenes” section. Also appearing is Jeff Probst, who has hosted the “countdown shows” for the entire series run on Adult Swim. Can can view all four specials on the Adult Swim website.
